Eosphaerophoria punctata Claussen & Weipert  

Species with notopleuron not produced posterolaterally, very distinctive with a medial yellow macula on 2nd abdominal tergum. Similar to E. symmetrica, but differs from this species by having a medial black vitta on frons and the 1st abdominal tergum almost entirely yellow.

The holotype is in the personal collection of Jörg Weipert in Plaue, Germany.
