SUMMARY
The subgenus Hovamicrodon is distinguished by having abdomen oval; scutellum recessed apically, with parallel apically rounded and flattened calcars; vein M1 rounded, not angulate, without appendix; metatibia without long pile along dorsal edge, forming a distinct brush; metasternum bare; and vein R4+5 with an appendix extending posteriorly into cell R4+5.
